MetroGreater

Small ideas can make Metro greater.

Overlay on station neighborhood map bus routes for stops within a 4 block radius of metro stop exits

At each Metro station have an easy-to-read large print neighborhood map that includes the metro stop exits and the bus routes for metrobuses that have stops within a 4 block radius of the metro exits. The bus routes should be shown in their entirety. In this way, if stranded on a metro platform folks will know which buses they could jump on near to the metro exit that will take them close to their destination. Simple, right.....Maps need to be clear to read....Typically metro bus route maps are difficult to read.

...If its just 4 blocks why not integrate that great suggestion with mine own?
...ACabPedalLets-SitUsIn...along with the FARE-REST WeALL..speaks to this similiar idea.
...Looking at your suggestion and pairing it with my proposed networks TaGiSCI and TNTICL(s)..I believe we can improve METRO efficiency big time!
...As you've mentioned already it "starts" with the ReDesign of the Transit System Map to reflects these points of interest.

I suggested doing this with the Station Area Maps...

The Station area maps include " Notable business", Parks,
street names,,, Having bus stops and a thin colored line
indicating the bus routes would do a lot....

That way you walk out of a station say in Alexandria and can see "A bus runs down king street"....

This would improve integration between Rail and Bus
