Earlier notice on fare machine when receipts aren't available

When paying the fare machines with a credit card, I'd like to know when a receipt cannot be printed before I set the amount and swipe my card.

I use the receipts to get reimbursed through my work's QTE. It's really annoying to spend the time to set the amount (I usually go up to $50), swipe my credit card, and then be told that a receipt isn't available. If I knew sooner, I wouldn't have to go through all that twice.
