Small ideas can make Metro greater.

Logan Crossing

Allow a "Farragut Crossing" using U St or Shaw/Dupont Circle or Farragut North/Farragut West or McPherson Square. 30 minute time limit, and this covers all 6 lines -- utilize Capital Bikeshare on this relatively flat area.

If we opened up these 6 stations and allowed riders to enter/exit for no fee within 30 minutes, we could eliminate some congestion at Metro Center/Gallery Place. If my idea of these six stations is too much, please consider a Metro Center/Gallery Place tunnel AT LEAST.

Even though J. Tillman's idea makes no sense and neither does this. WMATA would never set up a virtual transfer btwn all of these stations, they'd be losing out on too much revenue. Not to mention, not everyone can/will want to use CaBi and that none of these stations except the Farraguts & McPherson Sq are reasonable walking distance.

...You can choose to wait 25 minutes or more at a crowded station just to go one stop(in order to reach your transfer point) can haul the lumpbooty (or drag it) down three(3) to four(4) blocks and save yourself 20(or more minutes).
...This would cost you nothing. It would cost METRO nothing. Infact most people at over-crowded stations "leave" the system(from frustrations) and take alternative modes of trandport; This is what cost METRO money.

I know the area very well, I've even walked it before. That's what gives me the knowledge to say your idea is farcical at best, J. Tillman, and so is this one. Not to mention that a Metro/Gallery Tunnel is actually in the works for their 2030/2040 plan (and way more than $100k).

Also, outside of Safetrack, delays and maybe (just maybe) Sunday service, none of the stations you mentioned would see a 25min wait before a single train comes.

Had either of suggested "During such & such delay, virtual transfer is possible btwn such & such station(s)" that might've actually been intelligent, coherent thought. It would have implementation problems, but would've been a good idea.
